Presight to propel digital transformation in Gambia

Presight, the region’s leading big data analytics company powered by generative artificial intelligence, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gambia’s Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy (MOCDE) during GITEX Africa 2024.

In its statement, the company said that this strategic partnership aims to bolster the digital transformation efforts in the West African country, laying the groundwork for significant advancements in the nation’s communications infrastructure.

As part of the MoU, the two entities will embark on a two-phased comprehensive collaboration to enhance digital services and cybersecurity measures across the Gambia.

The first phase will focus on developing digital government services and a national digital identity initiative, both of which are crucial for improving public service delivery and ensuring secure, streamlined access to government resources.

Additionally, Presight will support the establishment of a national data centre, which will serve as the backbone for the country’s digital initiatives.

The second phase will see the establishment of a national safety operations centre designed to safeguard Gambia’s digital infrastructure against potential threats. Alongside this, the creation of a Digital Supply Chain Security Lab will ensure the integrity and security of digital transactions and communications, fostering a safe digital environment for businesses and citizens alike.

Dr. Adel Al Sharji, COO of Presight, commented, “This agreement marks a significant step towards building a robust digital ecosystem that will empower Gambia’s citizens and businesses. We are excited to contribute towards Gambia’s digital transformation, which involves the creation of a secure, efficient, and inclusive digital infrastructure.’’

Lamin Camara, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, said that this MoU is a significant breakthrough for both parties and will lead to fostering their relations.
